9 Turkish citizens wanted in Turkey for murder denied bail by Georgian court

Nine Turkish citizens who were detained in Batumi earlier this week for the illegal possession of firearms and crossing the border have been refused bail by a Georgian court earlier today. 

The individuals are wanted for murder in Turkey. 

Four of the nine individuals are family members.

The trial was closed to the public. 

One of the defendants’ lawyers told the media five of the nine detainees are using their right to silence, while the remaining individuals have given controversial testimonies.
