Out of 500 COVID-19 infected individuals in Georgia, 83 displayed no symptoms at the time of PCR testing, reads the latest report of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The patients did develop various symptoms later.
The report covers the period from the first confirmed case of the new coronavirus in Georgia – from February 16 to May 11, 2020.
As of May 11, Georgia had 16.9 per cent (83 patients) of patients with COVID-19 per 100,000 inhabitants, reads the survey.
Most of the new cases of COVID-19 have been in Georgia’s eastern Kvemo Kartli region (27.5%). Georgia’s eastern Shida Kartli (3.9%) and western Imereti (2.8%) are among the least affected regions.

The report of NCDC also shows the frequency of coronavirus symptoms. The most common symptoms of the virus are fever (82.4%), general weakness (49.6%), cough (38.3%), sore throat (25.9%) and headache (22.5%).
