Georgia’s Russian-occupied Tskhinvali region has reported two more cases of the coronavirus, increasing the total number of infected individuals to three.
Res media outlet reports that both patients have been transferred to the Infectious Disease Hospital in Tskhinvali (South Ossetia).
All three patients with coronavirus entered the region from Russia.
State Minister of Reconciliation and Civic Equality of Georgia Ketevan Tsikhelashvili has responded to the current situation in de-facto Tskhinvali.
Our main aim is to protect our population in the Russian-occupied territories and to contain the spread of the virus there. The main problem in Tskhinvali is that the region has been isolated for months and movement is completely suspended there. The only international organization with which we are able to cooperate and protect the interests of our population is the Red Cross. However, I hope that people living in Tskhinvali will follow all the recommendations put forward by the World Health Organization and the Georgian healthcare system”, said Tsikhelashvili earlier today.
