Foreign Minister of Vanuatu Ralph Regenvanu, who is paying an official visit to Georgia, has stated that his country firmly supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia and is eager to share successful Georgian reforms.
Vanuatu was among the few countries which recognised the two Russian-occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) as independent states in the wake of the Russia-Georgia war in 2008.

The Georgian occupied territories and the severe humanitarian situation there were on top of the agenda of both meetings.
Regenvanu is scheduled to visit the occupation line while in Georgia.
Only Russia. Venezuela, Nicaragua, Nauru and Syria have recognised the two occupied regions of Georgia as independent states since the Russia-Georgia war.
