Georgian and French law enforcers have conducted a joint investigation and special operation in France which led to the detention of members of an organised criminal group on 13 February, Georgian Interior Ministry has reported today.
The ministry says that the detainees were engaged in robbery, and the possession and sale of valuable robbed items from shops and other facilities.
The criminal group was connected with 17 cases of robbery,” the ministry reports.
The ministry says that it is continuing to actively cooperate with the law enforcement agencies of European countries.
Starting from 2018 up to now, 20 large-scale special operations have been conducted with the cooperation of French, Greek, Spanish and Polish colleagues,” the ministry says.
The Interior Ministry reports that 137 Georgian citizens involved in grave crimes have been detained during the raids, nine of them were criminal bosses.
