American restaurant and hospitality consulting firm af&co has named Georgian food as the cuisine of the year and Georgian cheese-filled bread, khachapuri, as the dish of the year in the 2019 Hospitality Trends Report.
Georgian cuisine is having a moment and leading the way is the photogenic, Instagram favourite dish Khachapuri. Featuring a cheese-filled bread boat topped with a runny egg, the egg and cheese are mixed together tableside”, read the report.

The report mentioned that Georgian wine is also becoming more popular in the hospitality sector.

The Georgian dish khachapuri was also best rated dish on TasteAtlas’s top 100 list.
