Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kobulia has met with European Investment Bank (EIB) Vice President Vazil Hudak and other officials today to discuss the EIB’s invest portal in Georgia and key priorities of future cooperation.
Minister Kobulia stated after the meeting that the parties discussed two new priority areas that include cooperation in terms of the establishment of energy efficiency and the attraction of direct foreign investments in Georgia.
Kobulia said the bank will provide Georgian companies with financial and technical assistance to make the production process energy efficient.
The bank will also support the introduction of large European companies in Georgia that will help us realise our export potential as well as develop local small and average business,” Giorgi Kobulia has stated.
EIB Vice President Vazil Hudak said the bank has conducted up to 200 million GEL support programmes in Georgia, adding local enterprises will be provided with loans.
We will continue the support further. Mostly, companies acting in the fields of energy efficiency, agriculture and technologies will be focused on,” Vazil Hudak stated.
The Vice President also added that the bank promised to help Georgia search for investors.
