Georgian judoka wins gold at Paris Grand Slam [VIDEO]

Captain of the Georgian Judo team Varlam Liparteliani won gold at the Paris Grand Slam international competition yesterday.

Liparteliani, 29, who has won silver medals at Olympic and World competitions in previous years, has won the Paris Grand Slam for the third time, defeating Japanese Aaron Wolf in the final battle.

Georgia received four medals at the competition.

  • Gold – Varlam Liparteliani.
  • Silver – Vazha Margvelashvili.
  • Bronze – Temur Nozadze.
  • Bronze – Lasha Shavdatuashvili.

The Paris Grand Slam featured 570 competitors from 97 countries this year.
