Georgia is going to build a 'military town' on Makhata Mountain in central Tbilisi where servicemembers will be offered affordable housing, announced Minister of Defence Irakli Gharibashvili earlier today.
To appreciate a long year professional military career and country service, the Ministry of Defence will help servicemembers have a decent living conditions,” said Gharibashvili.
The cost of a square metre of the building space is about $200, but servicemembers will pay only $100. They will also be able to use interest-free internal guarantees instead of bank guarantees.
The building process will be carried out by a construction company owned by the Ministry of Defence, instead of a private company which will reduce the cost.
