In January-November 2019, visits of international travellers coming to Georgia reached the historic high 8,690,352, which is 7.2 per cent more compared to the same period of last year, announced the Georgian National Tourism Administration.
In the first 11 months of 2019, out of the total number of visits by international travellers, 7,191,042 visits (6.6 per cent increase) were carried out by international visitors, defined as visits of people who are over the age of 15 and travel for less than one year.
In the first 11 months of 2019, out of international visits, tourist-type visits (visits of people who stayed in Georgia for at least one night) accounted for 4,768,432 (6.3 per cent increase).
In November 2019, visits of international travellers coming to Georgia reached 670,122 which is an increase of 12 per cent compared to the same period of last year.
Out of the total number of visits by international travellers, 543,176 visits (11.9 per cent increase) were carried out by international visitors, defined as visits of people who are over the age of 15 and travel for less than one year.
Out of international visits, tourist-type visits (visits of people who stayed in Georgia for at least one night) accounted for 338,831 which is 10.3 per cent more compared to the same period of last year.
International visits in November were increased mostly from Kazakhstan (169.3 per cent), Kyrgyzstan (134.8 per cent), China (52.6 per cent), Saudi Arabia (46 per cent), and Israel (36.3 per cent).
Increase of international visits from EU countries mostly occurred from Italy (84.8 per cent), Poland (80.4 per cent), France (35.5 per cent), German (35.4 per cent) and Latvia (26.6 per cent).
