The Georgian Foreign Ministry stated today that it has been “following with concern" the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and South Israel.
We express deep sorrow over the casualties and injuries among the civil population caused by the rocket attacks”, the ministry stated.
It further underscored that Georgia “strongly condemns any forms of terrorism, extremism and violence directed against civil population in any part of the world”.
The ministry hopes that “all the necessary steps will be taken to avoid further escalation of the situation and to maintain peace in the region”.

“Cross-border violence” between Israel and militants in Gaza continues a day after an Israeli air strike killed a Palestinian Islamic Jihad commander, BBC reported.
It cited Gaza's health ministry saying that 14 Palestinians had been killed by Israeli fire on Wednesday, bringing the death toll there to 24 since Tuesday.
Some 50 people have been reportedly treated for injuries or anxiety in Israel.
