State to privatise 100 state-owned buildings this month

The Ministry of Economy will offer 100 state-owned buildings to investors for privatisation this month, said Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava earlier today.

One of the main priorities for the Ministry of Economy in 2020 is the privatisation process of state property and the goal is to increase privatisation income for the state budget,” said the Georgian Minister of Economy Natia Turnava back in September 30.
She noted that privatisation is important for increasing employment and said that there are many other buildings and factories especially in the regions which should be bought by businesses and be privatised.

6 of over 100 state-owned assets auctioned to businesses for $3 mln
Six of more than 100 assets offered to businesses by the Georgian government, “in an unprecedented project” on November 29, have already been sold for 8,090,000 GEL [3 million dollars], Georgian Minister of Economy Natia Turnava stated earlier today.
More than 58 million GEL (about $18.80m/€ 15.97m) has been brought into the state budget by the sale of state property in the first six months of 2020, reports local media outlet InterPressNews based on information provided by the National Agency for State Property.
