Internet made available in mountainous Pshav-Khevsureti, Gudamakari

Internet has been made available in the Georgian mountainous region of Pshav-Khevsureti and  the ravine of Gudamakari. 

The project, providing Pshav-Khevsureti and Gudamakari with Wi-Fi internet was launched in March 2019 by the Ministry of Economy, Internet Society (ISOC) and Small and Medium Telecom Operators Association of Georgia.

The project is being conducted in two stages, covering Piraketa Khevsureti and Arkhoti ravines as well as Pirikita Khevsureti, Ardoti, Ukana Pshavi and Gudamakari ravines.

A total of 76 villages and four schools will be provided with internet during the project. A fixed IP telephone line will also be installed for 50 subscribers in the region.

A similar project was completed in the region of Tusheti in 2017, providing 24 villages and four ravines with internet.
