Masterclasses, literature and good music – Gudauri hosts the 4th literature festival

Georgian literary critic Levan Berdzenishvili spoke about trends in modern literature.

Gudauri, one of the most popular mountain resorts in Georgia hosted the Literary Festival “Litfest Gudauri 2019” on September 7.

 This years event, held at Marco Polo Gudauri Hotel with the support of Mountain Resorts Development Company, marked the 4th edition of the festival.  Interest towards the  festival is growing every year.

Books from 15 publishing houses were exhibited in the hotel beginning at 11am. In addition to the exhibition sales, festival-goers had a chance to participate in an interesting trivia game and got special prizes from publishing houses.

A series of lectures were given by various industry professionals:

  • Georgian literary critic Levan Berdzenishvili spoke about trends in modern literature
  • Writer Ana Kordzaia-Samadashvili wspoke about Ingeborg Bachmann and Group 47 (a group of writers and literary critics meeting in Germany between 1947–1967)
  • Soso Galumashvili, senior consultant at Gepra, conducted a masterclass for business book lovers

The TV show “Tsignebis Taro” hosted an interesting game and gave a chance to the visitors to test their knowledge and compete for prizes.

Event organizers  also took care of the children from different regions of Georgia. They were able to revive paintings of Georgia’s famous self-taught artist, Niko Pirosmani.

Dj Hatsvali  closed the festival with a show.

Literature and mountain lovers will be able to attend the festival in 2020 too.
