Bakhtadze and Abdullah discussed the development of transport corridors and stressed the role and significance of the successful project, Lapis Lazuli.
In December 2018 nine trucks with goods from Afghanistan traversing the Caspian Sea on route to Turkey landed in Georgia. This was the first cargo load that Afghanistan has sent via the Lapis Lazuli transit route, which passes through Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
