Candidate for Minister of Regional Development, Infrastructure:  housing will be provided to 2,440 IDP families

2,440 households of internally displaced people (IDP) will be provided with housing in Zugdidi, Kutaisi and Tskaltubo in 2019-2020, announced the candidate for the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maia Tskitishvili earlier today in parliament.

She also spoke about the creation of new tourist centres by developing tourism infrastructure in the regions.

I will not hesitate to say that the dynamics of fulfilling small and large scale infrastructure projects are clearly and unprecedentedly positive", announced Tskitishvili.

A project to restore Kutaisi’s historical district has already started. Reconstruction and restoration projects in Dusheti, Telavi, Bakuriani, Bakhmaro and other settlements are also at various stages, Tskitishvili said. 

The process of designing and constructing museums in Vani, Oni, Borjomi, Stepantsminda, Mtskheta will be completed in 2019-2021.    

She also noted that projects in the regions are being planned and funded based on the primary needs of the population identified during the meetings with them.Tskitishvili noted that the problem of access to kindergartens is important in all regions.

She said that through the Municipal Development Fund, the designing and construction of 40 new kindergartens was started in 2019, while municipalities will complete 48 kindergartens this year.
