Turkish national arrested for drug dealing in Georgian region of Adjara

Georgian police officers have detained Turkish national, identified only as I.A. in the Georgian region of Adjara for drug possession and sale.

The detainee, born in 1979, faces from seven to 14 years in jail.

As part of the investigation law enforcers bought narcotics twice from the detainee before they arrested him.

Afterwards, the seven pills of Suboxone sold by the detainee and 1000 GEL paid by police officers in exchange of it ended up as evidence.

Earlier in July, Georgian police also arrested an Azerbaijani national for illegal possession of drugs in large quantities.

The latest data of the Georgian Interior Ministry say that 77 individuals were charged with smuggling drugs into Georgia in between January and July 2019.
