The newly-established hourly parking system will also be introduced in the newly-built underground parking lot on Orbeliani Square, Tbilisi, Mayor Kakha Kaladze said at the Tbilisi government session yesterday.
He said the pilot paid parking project launched on August 1 has been successful so far.
Orbeliani Square was fully renovated and an underground parking lot was built as part of the renovation project. The parking lot is for 150 cars and fully meets European standards… We plan to introduce the hourly parking model there as well, ” Kaladze said.
Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced that an information booth will be put up on the square shortly, where the public can receive information about paid parking in Tbilisi.
Zonal hourly parking took effect in the central district of Tbilisi on August 1 on several streets adjacent to Kote Apkhazi (former Leselidze Street) and Abanotubani. It will later will be rolled out across Tbilisi.
Streets adjacent to Kote Apkhazi and Abanotubani will be divided into category A, B and C and tariffs will vary:
Category A - 1 GEL (about $ 0.37/€ 0.32) per hour
Category B - 2 GEL (about $ 0.74/€ 0.65)
Category C – 3 GEL (about $ 1.10/€ 0.97).
