Ukrainian police officers have detained three Georgian nationals facing charges for robbery yesterday.
The Georgian Interior Ministry has confirmed the arrest adding that two out of the three detainees worked in the Georgian riot police but they left the country after the new government came to power in 2012.
Police arrested them in the vicinity of Boryspil International Airport, Kyiv.
Ukrainian media outlets report the detainees assaulted a Ukrainian man and his wife and took a large amount of money and jewelry, as well as their Lexus.
Police say the detainees are 33, 41 and 43 years old and they had Ukrainian residence permits.
The Interior Ministry reports that Georgia collaborating with Ukraine to investigate the case.
