Georgian Kakhaber Abashidze has been appointed as the country manager for The Walt Disney Company in Turkey, Israel and Greece and The Walt Disney Company Central & Eastern Europe, announces the Walt Disney Company.
Previously he was Vice President of Channel Distribution at The Walt Disney Company, overseeing Disney Channels’ distribution activities across Europe, Middle East and Africa, liaising with key affiliate partners across the region.

Abashidze joined Disney in 2008 as Vice President of Channel Distribution covering Italy, Iberia, CEE, Africa, Emerging Markets and Russia and CIS.
Prior to joining the Walt Disney Company, Abashidze served as Regional Manager of Fox International Channels, worked as the Commercial Director of Jetix Europe for seven years, and was a telecoms analyst at business consulting firm Frost and Sullivan.
Filmmaker Dato Kiknavelidze’s animation short Geno will debut to international audiences at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France later this year, screening among hundreds of productions from across the world.
Georgian filmmaker Ana Chubinidze’s project, The Pocket Man, will soon be ready to be screened to international audiences as the film’s team celebrated the successful conclusion of its production with a teaser this week.
