Georgian artist Natia Mkheidze has been awarded the prestigious Michelangelo International Prize in Rome.
Mkheidze received the prize on July 14, 2019 at the Brancaccio Palace, Rome, in the presence of collectors, journalists, politicians and art lovers.
Currently Mkheidze works in Germany.
Her paintings are presented on various international platforms and in catalogs.
The Michelangelo International Prize is one of the most prestigious art prizes for contemporary artists.
Artists from around the world joined young Georgian creative Tedo Rekhviashvili, a student at the New York Academy of Art, in support of Georgia and against the ongoing occupation of two of the country’s regions in an artistic project involving displays in the United States.
