Several Georgian films to be presented at Sarajevo festival

Several Georgian films will be presented during the upcoming Sarajevo Film Festival, in the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 16 - 23 August.
A total of 53 films will compete for the Heart of Sarajevo awards at the 25th Sarajevo Film Festival.
The Festival’s competition sections – for feature, documentary, short and student film – will feature 23 world, 4 international, 24 regional and 2 Bosnian-Herzegovinian premieres.
Georgian-Swedish feature ‘And Then We Danced’ directed by Levan Akin will be shown during the festival. The co-production premiered at Cannes festival earlier this spring and was praised from the international media.
Short film 12 K. Marx Street by Irine Zhordania will take part in the short films’ contest and will be the piece’s first showing ever. Night Session by Petre Tomadze will have its regional premiere.

The festival is conducted annually and is considered one of the most important film events across the region.
Yesterday Georgian short film ‘The Animal’ directed by Amiran Dolidze was selected for the 72nd Locarno Film Festival.
