The rich collections of cultural exhibits at the Georgian National Museum were on display for a high-profile visitor this week as Tibor Navracsics, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, was introduced to the heritage in Tbilisi.
Navracsics, whose agency works to modernise education systems and cultural scenes across Europe, shared his impressions on items from archaeological discoveries concentrated at the GNM repository on Tuesday.
The European Commission official said to his social media followers he was in the museum to "discover artistic & cultural treasures" of the country.

Navracsics was in Tbilisi for an Eastern Partnership conference of the European Commission that aimed to promote "common values through education and culture".
Researchers, policymakers and other professionals were involved in the conference of discussions on civil issues, media literacy and intercultural relations between June 25-26.
Eastern Partnership is an European Union initiative aiming to deepen the union's relations with non-member states Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
The relations are framed by agreements such as Association Agreements, with EU-Georgia relations focusing on four devised directions titled Stronger Economy, Stronger Governance, Stronger Connectivity and Stronger Society.
