Road repair work is due to be completed in October this year, said the Roads Department.

Located 1,600 metres above sea level Lebarde is one of the natural destinations still left untouched by development work that could soon be coming to the former Soviet retreat.

The town first emerged as a health resort after mineral water was discovered by local shepherds in the area in the 1940s.

Benefiting those suffering from a variety of illnesses, the springs saw Lebarde transformed into a developed holiday retreat during the Soviet era.
