Gudauri-Kobi section of road connecting Georgia, Russia closed to all vehicles

The Gudauri-Kobi road section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi route, connecting Georgia to Russia, is closed to all vehicles due to the threat of avalanche.

There is a snowstorm and low visibility for now, the Road Department of Georgia says.

Vehicles from the village of Mleta, Dusheti municipality of eastern Georgia, will be allowed to move only in a non-stop regime. The restriction will be removed from the 86th section of the Mleta-Gudauri road.

Patrol police are on scene to regulate traffic.

Bad weather is forecasted around Georgia for tomorrow.
