The captain of a ship sailing under the Panama flag was fined 65,000 GEL in accordance with the decision of a Poti court.
The officers of the Environmental Supervision Department and Border Police detected that the ship polluted Black Sea with oil.
The ship will be allowed to sail after the captain fully pays off the fine.
Earlier in March, a captain of a ship sailing under a Turkish flag was also fined for killing a dolphin near the Batumi coast.
The captain admitted his guilt in the matter. He had to pay 40,900 GEL.
