Georgian PM presents ruling party candidate for Mtatsminda district MP elections

Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze has presented Doctor Lado Kakhadze as the Georgian Dream’s candidate who will run in the Mtastsminda district parliamentary by-elections on May 19.

Bakhtadze claimed that the ruling party has chosen a “distinguished candidate for a distinguished district.”

Kakhadze is a very worthy candidate. He loves his people and country very much and he has proven this for many years with his activities. For many people, Lado is an example of professionalism,” Bakhtadze said.

Kakhadze said that he is eager to play his role in the building of a prosperous and safe Georgia.

I will fight for this goal,” he said.

43,868 voters are registered in Mtatsminda district.

The seat became vacant after the election of Salome Zurabishvili as the fifth president of Georgia.

11 candidates have been registered so far in the district, three of them were presented by political parties: the Georgian Dream, the bloc of Free Democrats-European Georgia and the Girchi party.

The remaining eight have been nominated by initiative groups [a group of at least five individuals]
