Ten Georgian wines are being showcased at the 43nd International Food and Beverage Exhibition (FOODEX JAPAN) in Japan – the largest annual food and beverage trade show in Asia.
The four-day expo began on March 6, where the following Georgian wines are participating: Vaziani Company, Maranuli, Dugladze Wines and Spirits, Chateau Nekresi, Kindzmarauli, Sarajishvili, Alaverdi, Qimerioni, Mosmieri and Chelti.
Within the exhibition, a seminar-presentation of Georgian wine "Georgia – the Cradle of Wine” was held, which included a short review of the 8,000 year development of Georgian wine history and culture.

Wine journalists, wine importers, experts and representatives of restaurants and market chains including the president of the Japanese Sommelier Association, Satoru Mori, attended the presentation.
Japan in particular is a growing export market for Georgian wine.
In January-February of 2018, Georgia exported 44,292 bottles of wine to Japan, which made for a 213 percent year-over-year increase.
