Georgia’s internationally recognised opera star Anita Rachvelishvili will release her debut album on Sony Classical, with the prominent label announcing an exclusive deal with the singer.
Rachvelishvili’s first recording will become available worldwide in early March and feature performances that have established her name in the opera world.
The mezzo-soprano’s signing to the label was first announced by Sony Classical last month.

Sony Classical is proud to announce the signing of the extraordinary Georgian mezzo Anita Rachvelishvili, a singer acclaimed for her sensually powerful performances”.
Rachvelishvili’s eagerly anticipated debut album, a recital with personally chosen highlights from her repertoire will be released in 2018”, said a release by the company.
Two of the pieces in the album’s tracklist will be arias from the opera classic Carmen, with Georgian opera also represented in the recording.
The latter will come in the form of The Legend of Shota Rustaveli, a 1919 work by celebrated Georgian composer Dimitri Arakishvili.
Rachvelishvili’s recordings for the album will feature the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI, led by conductor Giacomo Sagripanti.
The deal with Sony Classical will see Rachvelishvili join a roster of acclaimed artists who have recorded with the company, including opera singers Placido Domingo and Vittorio Grigolo as well as Georgian pianist Khatia Buniatishvili.
Last year the mezzo-soprano finished first in the Best Female Singer Award poll from a leading opera review website Bachtrack and was part of a concert celebrating France's National Day in Paris, watched by millions of viewers.
Anita Rachvelishvili’s release with the label is set to become available on March 2.
