Georgia may sign free trade deal with the UK

A free trade deal might be signed between Georgia and the United Kingdom (UK), announces the Ambassador of Georgia to the UK Tamar Beruchashvili.

Beruchashvili said that Georgia and the UK are having consultations on signing a strategic and comprehensive agreement of which one of components is a free trade deal.

[This agreement] includes the component of a free trade deal and establishing cooperation in different fields…Several rounds of consultations have already been held”, Beruchashvili said.

Meanwhile, Georgia is also discussing free trade possibilities with the United States. Georgian Economy Minister Giorgi Kobulia yesterday said that Georgia-US free trade talks will move into an active phase in 2019.
