130 Georgian soldiers have returned home from an international peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, thus completing their tour in the NATO Resolute Support Mission.
Georgian and German defence officials greeted the soldiers at the Alevseeka Military Aerodrome on the outskirts of Tbilisi, and thanked them for their service.

The soldiers belong to the 3rd Infantry Brigade and their duty in Afghanistan on the Mazar-i-Sharif base was to control the perimeter and fulfill fast response operations.
The soldiers have been replaced by Georgian servicemen from the 6th Mechanized Brigade.
Georgia is the largest non-NATO contributor to the Resolute Support mission with 885 troops.
