The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, supported by the National Library, is implementing new digital library platform – www.el.ge.
The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Mikheil Batiashvili and Director of the National Library Giorgi Kekelidze signed the agreement today.

The Digital Library will be an online, public collection of documents and media about the history and culture of Georgia.
The platform has already started working in test mode.
The digital library will connect users to content from libraries, archives, museums, historical societies, and other institutions, as well as agencies of the government.
It is almost unimaginable to get a higher education without using contemporary digital communications and informational technologies. Therefore the ministry cooperated with the National Library and created the platform. Users will have access to books, dissertations, publications, cartographic maps another materials”, stated the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Mikheil Batiashvili.
Hundreds of places where the public can download free digital books are being established in Georgia’s capital to transform the city into an open-air library for locals and visitors alike.
