Signagi city hall, installation company fined for damaging cultural heritage monument

Signagi city hall in eastern Georgia and company Install + have been fined 12,000 GEL each as they damaged the appearance of the Signani fence, which is listed as a monument of cultural heritage in Georgia.

The responsible employees of the city hall and the company will have to pay the fine for restoration works on the fence, the appearance of which has been totally changed.

The State Agency for the Protection of Cultural Heritage says that the works were not agreed upon with them in advance.

Signagi city hall has been given six months to come up with a project through cooperation with the state agency to restore and preserve the previous view of the fence.
