Georgian Vice Colonel Irakli Chitanava, who commands the 1st Infantry Brigade of the 11th battalion of the Georgian Armed Forces (GAF) in Afghanistan, has awarded several American soldiers with the order of General Kvinitadze.
The order is given to servicemen who contribute to success in military activities and combat readiness.
The soldiers have contributed to the enhancement of military cooperation between Georgia and the US,” the Georgian Defence Ministry commented.
The Georgian 1st Infantry Brigade has been involved in NATO mission Resolute Support in Afghanistan since May 2018.
They are tasked with protecting the Bagram airbase and its outer perimeter.
