Enterprise Georgia, a government institution that promotes the country’s export growth, has created online platform to help local businesses enter the global market.

The programme offers Georgian entrepreneurs to register on the new online platform tradewithgeorgia.com to introduce their products and services to potential foreign partners. Currently more than 20 companies have already started using the system.

Enterprise Georgia has also created guidance and video tutorials to help companies easily fill out their profile information, and launched an information campaign presenting the new service to local businessmen earlier this month.

I believe the platform will be quite useful, since Georgia has free trade deals with a total consumer market of 2.3 billion people. In the first six months of 2018 the value of Georgia’s exports increased by 27 per cent. I’m sure the platform will help Georgia’s external trade to rise even further”, Enterprise Georgia Director Mikheil Khidureli stated in a meeting with local entrepreneurs held in Rooms Hotel in Tbilisi today.

In the first five months of 2018 the value of Georgia’s exports increased by 28 per cent to $1.28 billion, while the value of imports also increased 23.3 per cent to $3.61 billion with respect to January-May 2017, data from Geostat show.

In June 2014 the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, launched government programme Produce in Georgia. Enterprise Georgia is a partner of Produce in Georgia and is responsible for business support, export promotion and attracting investments to Georgia business sectors.
