A group of Russian citizens were denied entry to Georgia for violating the country's Law on Occupied Territories, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia told reporters earlier today.

The ministry also revealed identities of the three individuals who were refused entry.

They were named as Viktor Litovkin, military reporter of the state information agency ITAR-TASS, NTV channel journalist Aleksandr Tokarev and Gennadiy Bordyugov, President of the International Council of the Association of Public Researchers.

The refusal for their entry to Georgia was issued as Georgia's capital is hosting a media conference financed by the fund of Russia's president Vladimir Putin.

The Interior Ministry reported 363 cases of violation of the Law on Occupied Territories between 2009-2016.

Georgia adopted the law following the 2008 war with Russia, imposing various restrictions for those visiting the country’s occupied territories of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) without permission from the government of Georgia.
