Georgian citizens are coming up with different ideas to spread the message about the Russian occupation in as many different and creative ways as possible.

“Russia is the occupant” reads a receipt given in a small market called “Maperi” that is located in the western Georgian town of Khobi.

The owner of the market Vakhtang Sergia attached the message to the receipt in Georgian and English languages.

Meanwhile, in the town of Batumi a large banner has been hung down from a building on Europe Square, reading: “I am from Georgia and my country is occupied by Russia”.

Next to this banner there is another banner, showing a portrait of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, having one of the most recognised symbols of Soviet power, the hammer and sickle,  on his forehead.

Earlier, a Georgian designer issued a passport cover, the design of which includes a both artistic and informative glance at the military occupation of the two breakaway provinces of Georgia under Russian control.

It also briefly states that 20 percent of Georgia’s territory — the provinces of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) — have been dunder the control of occupying forces since the 2008 Russian-Georgian War.
