Georgian farmers have presented their produce at the Co-op Market organised by the  Agricultural Cooperatives Development Agency to mark the international day of cooperatives.

More than 20 agricultural cooperatives from various regions of Georgia have been participating in the event.

Georgian farmers’ cooperatives have presented their honey, wine, tea, Churchkhela, dried fruit, fruit and cheese.

The Georgian government started supporting farmers’ cooperation beginning in 2013. A number of state support programs have been developed for the promotion of cooperatives in different sectors aiming to encourage small farmers' unions.

More than 1200 cooperatives are currently producing different agricultural produce across Georgia.

On 7 July 2018, members of cooperatives around the world celebrate the International Day of Cooperatives with the slogan - Sustainable societies through cooperation.
