Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze met with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe (CoE) Thorbjorn Jagland in the Cyprus capital of Nicosia.

Janelidze thanked Jagland for the CoE Consolidated Reports on Conflict in Georgia that give information on the human rights situation in the Russian occupied regions of Georgia – Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia).

Janelidze and Jagland also spoke about the progress Georgia has achieved through its reforms aimed at democratic consolidation.

Georgian Foreign Minister Janelidze visited Nicosia to participate in the 27th meeting of the CoE Committee of Ministers on May 18-19.
