Georgia is welcoming eight completely innovative ideas and fully-funded ventures to the most viable sector of Georgian economy - the high-tech and innovations-based industry.
The winning entrepreneurs will be able to contribute to development of the medical industry, financial technology, virtual reality and bacteriophages sectors.
The lucky winners were able to present their innovative projects to about 50 American investors in Silicon Valley, United States (US) at a special event organised by Silicon Valley and dedicated to Georgia.
The event was officially opened by the Georgian Ambassador to the US David Bakradze and Georgia's export in the National Basketball Association (NBA) Zaza Pachulia.
At the event Georgian Ambassador talked about Georgia’s favourable investment environment and the programs the Government of Georgia is running to support the innovative business ideas.
Bakradze also offered a helping hand to the Silicon Valley investors if they were willing to get more information about Georgia’s business environment.
Meanwhile, the Georgian startupers also received training from Silicon Valley experts.
The Startup Georgia project was launched by the Government of Georgia in May 2016 to foster entrepreneurial spirit, encourage the creation of new businesses and develop the economy by supporting innovative ideas. It is an important part of the four-point reform agenda of the Government elaborated for quick development of the country.
