Georgia has been elected the host country for the next congress of the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA).

Between 300-500 delegates (mostly heads of different tourist guide associations) from 70 countries will gather in Georgia in 2019 to participate at the congress.

This was decided at the 17th WFTGA Convention, where participant countries voted for Georgia to be the host country of the next meeting.

Delegates from 70 countries attended the 17th WFTGA Convention this month, however only 34 had the right to vote.

Head of the Georgian National Tourism Association Giorgi Chogovadze said it was important for Georgia to host the event as it would contribute to the development of both tourism and the profession of tourist guides.
