To increase awareness towards Georgian culture in Germany, a community named after Georgia's iconic, 12th century poet, Shota Rustaveli will promote Georgian literature in Berlin.

This year marks 850 years since the birth of Rustaveli, Georgia's national poet whose literary legacy is represented by the famous 12th Century poem The Knight in the Panther's Skin.

Various events have been dedicated to Rustaveli’s 850th anniversary this year.

First established in 1922 the community has now been restored on the 850th anniversary since the birth of the Georgian poet who penned the iconic poem.

Now the community will introduce Rustaveli’s poem to a wider audience in Germany.
