Georgia’s Permanent Representative to United Nations (UN) Kaha Imnadze has been appointed as co-chair of the intergovernmental negotiations on UN Security Council reform.

President of the General Assembly Miroslav Lajcak shared this information with the permanent representatives and observers to the UN.
I would like to thank Ambassador Imnadze and Nusseibeh for having accepted this very important responsibility and I have no doubt that you will extend your full support and cooperation to them”, Lajcak said in a letter.
Imnadze will chair of the intergovernmental negotiations together with his colleague from The United Arab Emirates Lana Zaki Nusseibeh.

The General Assembly of the United Nations has recognised the right of return of all internally displaced persons and refugees in Georgia and their descendants to their homes throughout that country, including Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region.
Giving the example of the tragic death of Archil Tatunashvili in Russian occupied region of Tskhinvali (South Ossetia), Georgia’s permanent representative to the United Nations (UN) Kaha Imnadze said the Russian occupation has turned Georgia’s Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions into territories where murder and torture are unaccounted for.
