Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, together with Italian Deputy Minister of Economy Ivan Scalfarotto, attended the opening of an exhibition of masterpieces by Sandro Botticelli and Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio in Tbilisi last night.

Kvirikashvili said he was happy that Italian culture and business came to Georgia together as the opening of the exhibition coincided with a major Georgian-Italian business forum in Tbilisi.

"By the end of November, when Georgia hosts the New Silk Road Forum, more than 1,000 international businessmen will be able to witness the exhibition in Tbilisi,” Kvirikashvili said.

Deputy Minister Scalfarotto said that the exhibition is important for both Georgia and Italy and that Georgia is part of the European family.

"Georgia attracts more and more tourists. This means that Tbilisi deserves a higher level and more vivid cultural life, and that’s exactly the purpose of the project Check in Georgia,” he said, adding that Italy is ready to provide more support for Georgia in this regard in the future.
"We commend the future-oriented approaches of the Government of Georgia,” he said.
