European Union (EU) Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn has been given honorary citizenship of Tbilisi.
Hahn met with Georgia’s State Minister of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Victor Dolidze in Brussels yesterday. Dolidze congratulated the EU Commissioner on becoming an honorary citizen of Tbilisi.

The pair discussed the preparations for the Eastern Partnership Summit scheduled for November in Brussels.
"The Eastern Partnership Summit in November is approaching and we should know what pragmatic results Georgia will receive and get more assistance in different fields, such as defence, energy security and support of reforms”, Dolidze said.

Hahn stressed the progress of Georgia, part of the EU’s Eastern Partnership initiative, and said that Georgia is a leader in terms of implementing reforms.
He thanked Dolidze for Georgia’s contribution to the EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) operations.
