World football stars play in Tbilisi to help burnt Borjomi forest

Francesco Totti, Carles Puyol, Rivaldo, Dida, Andriy Shevchenko, Javier Zanetti, Zvonimir Boban, Serginho, Paolo Maldini, Luca Toni, Hernán Crespo, Vincent Candela, Marek Jankulovski, Alessandro Costacurta, Demetrio Albertini, Dino Baggio, Massimo Ambrosini, Massimo Oddo, Marco Delvecchio, Sébastien Frey, Angelo Di Livio, Enrico Annoni, Christian Abbiati, Sebastiano Rossi, Giuseppe Favalli, Mauro Tassotti, Angelo Carbone, Iván Córdoba, Dario ŠimiÄ, Ibrahim Ba and Pietro Vierchowod are the all-time football stars who will play at Tbilisi Dinamo Arena on September 29.
The charity match is scheduled for 9pm and the money accumulated from the sales for the event will be spent on the restoration of the forest burnt in Borjomi Gorge in August.
The football stars were invited by Georgia’s Football Federation.
Ticket sales starts today from 3pm via www.tkt.ge.
Tickets can be bought for 5, 10, 15 and 25 GEL.
Experts from the US Forest Service arrived to Georgia today to support the country restore the land affected by a large-scale fire in eastern Borjomi Gorge in August.
UPDATED: It is the third day that a massive forest fire which broke out in the Borjomi Gorge is still raging in Central Georgia. The latest estimations say that tens of hectares of forestland is on fire.
A massive forest fire that broke out a week ago in Georgia’s Borjomi Gorge has been extinguished, but the special headquarters that was set up upon the Prime Minister’s order to handle the disaster remains in the gorge to follow the developments.
Georgian citizens, business and banking sector representatives are teaming up to restore the forest burnt following the recent devastating wildfire in the Borjomi Gorge, with several social campaigns already in full swing.
Georgian capital of Tbilisi will become the venue of a unique charity match between the all-time football stars who will play at Tbilisi Dinamo Arena on September 29.
The charity match between the world stars united under "World XI” and "GFF XI” teams is scheduled for 9 pm. The money gathered from the sales for the event will be spent on the restoration of the forest burnt in Borjomi Gorge in August.
