At a joint press conference with Janelidze, the CoE official praised Georgia for the democratic progress he believes the country has achieved recently.
"I would like to congratulate Georgia for the progress which has been achieved in recent years. Europe supports Georgia’s reform agenda as envisaged in our action plan”, he said.
Jagland positively assessed the way Georgia amends its constitution and said he is happy the country’s government and parliament desire to strongly cooperate with the Venice Commission in this regard.
While in Tbilisi, Jagland will meet Georgia’s President, Prime Minister and other high-ranking government officials.
