Occupation forces dig trenches in Georgian villages to prevent fires

The creeping occupation continues in Georgia as Russian occupation forces dig out trenches along the village of Artsevi in occupied Tskhinvali region (South Osetia), ostensibly to prevent the spread of wild fires.
De-facto South Ossetian officials said, the works will continue until August 19.
According to the official information, so-called border guards have not moved further into the territory controlled by the Georgian Government but rather they dig out trenches on the area controlled by the occupation forces since August, 2008.
However, due to ongoing works, people living along the occupation line refrain from working in their own agricultural lands.
Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko visited the occupation line in Georgia’s eastern Khurvaleti village, located near the country’s occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region.Poroshenko viewed the area with Georgia’s President Giorgi Margvelashvili early in the morning and stressed the line was a "gap between past and future.”
Georgia’s Reconciliation Minister Ketevan Tsikhelashvili made a statement concerning the importance of the peaceful resolution of conflicts and stressed Georgia faces not a banner erected by occupants, but serious forces behind the banners.
The Russian occupation forces deployed in central Georgia have moved the occupation line further into Georgian territory. This step saw about 10 more hectares of Georgian soil in the heart of the country now become occupied by Russia.
The total length of barbed wire fences illegally erected by Russian occupational troops on Georgian soil is 63km, as of today. All cases of human rights violation in Georgia’s occupied regions were collated into one document for the global community to review.
Locals of the Russian occupied region of Georgia Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) cannot use the crossing-point between the breakaway region and the rest of Georgia for four days.
Georgia’s Minister of Reconciliation and Civil Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili says that occupied Tskhinvali’s hints about replacing the Georgian language with Russian at Akhalgori schools, is "another step within the policy of Russification”.
Russian occupation forces are undergoing a military training in the village of Orchosani in Georgia’s breakaway Tskhinvali region (South Ossetia), says the Georgian State Security Agency.
