Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University (TSU), the oldest university in Georgia and in the Caucasus region, has inherited the unique library of German Professor of a Tubingen University, Klaus Schwager.

Schwager, an architect and art critic, passed away in 2016. He gifted his unique, private library to TSU.

The library includes valuable books and albums about architecture and art in English, French, and German languages, and is now available for all students of the university.

The books were transported to Georgia through the collaboration of Georgia’s Ambassador to Germany Lado Chanturia, and Georgia’s Ministry of Refugees.

Meanwhile, the university and the Ministry signed a memorandum today through which the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons, Accommodation and Refugees will provide TSU with educational-scientific literature.

For its part, the university takes responsibility to select the best internally displaced students and cover their education expenses.
