Small and medium-sized businesses in Georgia are now able to receive all information about the possibilities and benefits of free trade with the European Union (EU) through a recently launched online platform.

Georgia’s Ministry of Economy presented a new web portal www.dcfta.gov.ge yesterday, which was created with the support of the EU Delegation in Georgia and the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ).

The website is an informative resource on the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), which is a preferential trade regime introduced within the Association Agreement (AA) between the European Union and Georgia. The AA was signed in June 2014.

The website covers all DCFTA-related matters and acts as a platform with the goal of providing practical, legislative, and otherwise relevant information for entrepreneurs and other stakeholders in both Georgian and English languages.

The DCFTA website aims to:

  • Support all interested parties to obtain information about the benefits, opportunities and advantages provided by the DCFTA;
  • Provide information to interested parties about EU grants and other financial aid programs which are carried out within the DCFTA;
  • Provide information to interested parties regarding the implemented reforms and legislative initiatives.

The website is managed by Georgia’s Ministry of Economy.
